My photographic focus is on the artistic possibilities of ICM, Multiple Exposure, and Creative Photography techniques as uniquely individual forms of expression. I'm a globally recognized leader in this area of creative photography, and I have done extensive work with ICM, Multiple Exposure, and Creative photography techniques over the past several years. The beauty of creating in this way is that, by seeing things differently, we can connect with world around us to transform how we interact with our surroundings...to explore, experiment, and play in exciting new ways, resulting in images that are unique to each of us as individual photographers. |
I am the Founder and Creator of ICM Photography Magazine, a first-of-its-kind e-magazine dedicated to celebrating the art and beauty of ICM, Multiple Exposure, and Creative Photography. Intentional Camera Movement as evolved and grown significantly over the past few years, and it has served as a bridge for many photographers to explore more creative techniques and processes. With evolution and growth comes change, and I have a new vision for the magazine to reimagine ICM as Intentional Creative Moments and to celebrate an ever-expanding exploration of creativity above and beyond a specific technique.
I lead immersive on-location ICM/Creative Photography workshops in the US and the UK in collaboration with various creative photographers through Stephanie Johnson Photography Workshops. Also, as an instructor for Santa Fe Workshops, I lead ICM/Creative Photography workshops both online and on-location for SFW, as well. Additionally, I collaborate with various other online learning communities and camera clubs, such as Out of Chicago Photography and Camversation, to share my passion, techniques, artistry, and knowledge of the creative photography techniques.

In my camera club presentations, I share my passion for the techniques and processes involved with ICM and Multiple Exposure photography. I also talk about my journey from traditional landscape photographer to focusing on a more creative approach with my photography, and I share my personal philosophy about the art and beauty of these creative techniques, as well as about the ways I am pushing the boundaries of ICM to move my artistry in new directions. I have a deep love and joy for the individually expressive nature of ICM, ME, and Creative Photography techniques, and I encourage photographers to 'see things' differently through the lens of their own individual artistry, as well as through the lens of their inner creative selves.
In this talk, I cover some of the basic principles and techniques of ICM and Multiple Exposure, along with sample images to show the effects of various camera movements to create abstract and painterly effects. Additionally, several examples showing scenes before and after using ICM will be shared, as well as a short field work video to show some of the camera movements I use in different location settings.
I also cover more advanced ICM and Multiple Exposure techniques in this presentation, as well as a section on Mobile ICMs (both Android and iPhone) for the growing trend towards creating artistic images with mobile devices. My presentations are full of sample images, technical details and descriptions, as well as creative ideas for inspiration.
Additionally, I talk about the learning opportunities I offer through Stephanie Johnson Photography Workshops, Santa Fe Workshops, Out of Chicago, and my ongoing global ICM project, ICM Photography Magazine, as well as how this project and its extensions are celebrating creative photographers and bringing awareness to the art of ICM, Multiple Exposure, and Creative Photography around the world.
